With the start of the academic year upon us, thousands of schools and over a million students in Nepal, Japan and Brunei will continue to benefit from the Veda app.
The Veda app, a cloud-based all-in-one school and college management system designed by Intel® Liftoff program member, InGrails Software, unites all disparate systems that schools have traditionally needed to use.
The Veda App Solution
By automating administrative tasks, the Veda app allows schools to improve their processes, provide real-time updates to parents and increase their ability to deliver education to its students.
All the schools’ administration activities, including academic (class, exam, report, assignments, attendance, notifications, etc.), billing & finance, payroll and inventory are now automated on one platform.
The COVID-19 pandemic also made schools more aware of the need to make remote learning solutions more robust.
The platform supports asynchronous learning where teachers and students can all engage with the curriculum at different times and from different locations. This ensures that students can continue their education regardless of external disruptions.
Accessible Technology
While all the schools have similar needs, they all have different levels of technical proficiency. The platform makes educational tools accessible and user-friendly.
Using data and visualization, Veda offers schools easy-to-use tools that save them time when making impactful decisions for their students. It allows them to transform their education and learning offerings.
Intel® Liftoff’s Role
For InGrails and the Veda team, the support from the Intel® Liftoff program was instrumental in their product development and that the mentorship and resources like the Intel® Tiber™ Developer Cloud provided helped them refine their technology and optimize their platform for scalability and efficiency through the addition of AI.
“Multiple online sessions helped our team members understand novel ways to improve the performance of our system, while keeping the system load relatively in check. Moving forward, we will be using the hardware resources being provided through the Intel developer platform to drive innovation into our product and make sure we keep strong on our mission of ensuring that education makes the best use of evolving technology. We are now an all-in-one cloud-based school software and digital learning system for growing, big and ambitious names in education,” says Nirdesh Dwa, Founder, The Veda App.
The Impact
By creating a unified solution, Veda has been able to drive significant change in the education sector. The benefits of the over 1,200 schools servicing 1.3 million students across Nepal, Japan and Brunei have not just streamlined processes but also increased parent engagement by an average of 30% as well as improved education through data-driven insights.
The Future for Education in Africa and Asia
The Veda platform is now expanding its reach to South East Asia, Middle East & North Africa and Central Africa. They are also continuing with their aim to fully integrate AI features such as Decision Support Systems and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) tools to create even more supportive and effective learning environments by mid 2025.
Their goal is to continue innovating and providing schools with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
Future plans for Veda include AI integration to develop a teacher feedback-based Decision Support System and enabling predictions about students' strengths for higher studies.
“Additionally, we aim to create a dedicated analytics platform atop Veda, catering to user requirements and company recommendations,” says Nirdesh.
