Developers and data scientists can accelerate and scale end-to-end AI applications on Intel CPUs and GPUs using the latest optimized Intel AI tools and frameworks. Intel also provides Intel® Developer Cloud to build, test, and run AI applications or workloads with the latest Intel hardware and software.
This blog summarizes the below sessions that were delivered at oneAPI DevSummit for AI and HPC 2023:
- Enhancing Aviation Predictive Maintenance with oneAPI: NASA's Turbofan Engine Degradation Simulation
- Gen AI: Unleash the Power of GenAI and LLM using the latest Intel Cloud GPU
I. Tech Talk - Enhancing Aviation Predictive Maintenance with oneAPI: NASA's Turbofan Engine Degradation Simulation
Session Overview
In this tech talk, Deepthi starts with an overview of damage propagation modeling for aircraft engine prognostics. She introduces C-MAPSS (Commercial Modular Aero-Propulsion System Simulation) software. It is a tool for simulating a realistic large commercial turbofan engine. This tool is coded in MATLAB® and Simulink® environments and involves a few input parameters such as operational profile and environment conditions. C-MAPSS software can simulate an engine model of 90,000 lb. thrust class and is also capable of simulating operations:
- altitudes ranging from sea level to 40,000 ft and
- sea-level temperatures from –60F to 103F
Finally, she uses Intel optimized AI frameworks to show the implementation and results of Remaining Useful Life (RUL) Prediction from NASA’s Turbofan Engine Degradation Simulation for Aircraft Engines.

About the Speaker
Deepthi A J is an Intel oneAPI Innovator and Intel Certified Instructor in Machine Learning using oneAPI. Currently pursuing a Ph.D., she is deeply passionate about crafting AI solutions and leveraging the benefits of oneAPI to drive innovation in the field.
II. Workshop - Gen AI: Unleash the Power of GenAI and LLM using the latest Intel Cloud GPU
Session Overview
In this workshop, Kazi begins with an overview of oneAPI and the benefits of using oneAPI. Intel® Toolkits has various toolkits with best-performance libraries, frameworks, and debug tools to build and scale high-performance applications on various hardware architectures. He shows prompt generation and the API integration application that he developed. This application will generate prompts for various tasks, such as drafting emails, creating social posts, and developing marketing materials. He then demonstrates the hands-on lab session which includes:
- Getting started on Intel® Developer Cloud
- Steps to launch an instance on Intel® Developer Cloud
- Access to the Text-to-Image with Stable Diffusion code sample in the Training and Workshops section (in Intel® Developer Cloud console) and LLM Custom Chatbot development with Mistral 7B model code sample on GitHub
- Implementation and steps for trying out the above code samples
