Cisco and Intel have a long-standing relationship that helps deliver innovative solutions to customers across the globe. Together, we help organizations adapt and prepare for the tremendous opportunity and flexibility the hybrid cloud model presents for the rise of AI, the acceleration of 5G, and the buildout of computing at the edge.

We share similar visions of new operating models and infrastructure for hybrid clouds. Future hybrid cloud infrastructure will require more compute power, better security, and advanced efficiency. We are excited to congratulate Cisco on its hybrid cloud announcements and the launch of its UCS X-Series Modular System, designed to simplify data center environments and adapt to the unpredictable needs of modern applications.

"Cisco and Intel have a long-standing partnership built on the foundation of innovative technologies. We continue to see an increase in application diversity driving the need for simple, flexible and future-ready hybrid cloud infrastructure. Today, we take a big step forward toward meeting that need with Cisco's UCS X-Series Modular System, powered by the new Intel 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable Processors. Cisco UCS X-Series is leading an architectural shift with an adaptative system engineered to address the needs of modern applications and hybrid cloud operations. I want to congratulate Cisco on the announcement of UCS X-Series and look forward to our continued partnership."

Advanced Intel Technology in the UCS X-Series Modular System

Each generation of Cisco UCS with Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors has added new technologies to easily transition workloads, software, and data to new, compatible infrastructure. The Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System utilizes 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors to deliver enhanced performance and greater density across a wide range of workloads.

3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors feature Intel® SGX, which protects data and application code so that different teams across an organization can collaborate using shared data without compromising privacy. Intel SGX improves the confidentiality and integrity of customer data and code while it’s processed in the multitenant hybrid cloud.

Flexible Management with Cisco Intersight

The UCS X-Series is managed by Cisco Intersight, a cloud operations platform, which is key to handling the rising level of demands on IT teams to manage and optimize infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Applications and infrastructure can be deployed, managed, and optimized from the cloud at scale and integrate new features as they’re developed. UCS X-Series is designed to address a broader range of workloads by combining the management simplicity of blade servers with the I/O flexibility and expandability of rack servers. UCS X-Fabric Technology connects compute nodes and accelerator nodes to create systems customized to the needs of the applications, helping to simplify IT by reducing the number of server types to maintain and improve operational efficiency.

Across every infrastructure domain—from compute to storage to network to memory to accelerator technologies—Intel is driving platform innovation and next-generation capabilities. With UCS X-Series and Intel architecture-based solutions, businesses have a simplified hybrid cloud operating model for the data-centric era.
