The Intel and HPE collaboration is grounded in a shared vision to empower enterprises through technology that drives innovation and operational excellence. The integration of Intel’s advanced Xeon 6 processor technology into the HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 platform exemplifies this vision. By combining Intel’s leadership in processor innovation with HPE’s strengths in server architecture, we deliver solutions that offer improved performance per watt, enhanced virtualization experiences, and scalable deployment options.

This strategic partnership is built on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and a mutual commitment to customer success. Together, HPE and Intel bring complementary capabilities that result in powerful, reliable, and future-ready IT solutions.

Performance and Optimization: Delivering a Competitive Edge

The HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, are designed to efficiently manage high-performance workloads, such as Microsoft SQL Server and AI applications, which are highly relevant for businesses. Intel performed a series of tests, using HPE ProLiant Compute DL380 Gen12 servers configured with two 32-core Xeon 6 6730P processors, 16x 128 GB DDR5 memory, and 2x 100GB high-speed network interface cards (NICs), enabling them to process demanding computing tasks with exceptional efficiency.

Preliminary performance benchmarks demonstrate significant gains, underscoring the Gen12 platform’s capacity for workload consolidation, energy efficiency, and optimized total cost of ownership (TCO). Testing of a database workload (Microsoft SQL Server) achieved ~96% of bare metal performance in a virtualized environment, delivering near native speed with the flexibility of virtualization. For AI workloads, VM Essentials and the Intel Xeon 6 processors demonstrated exceptional scalability, supporting up to 192 simultaneous prompts on a dual socket configuration. Notably, the Intel Xeon 6 processors deliver superior performance across a broad range of workloads, making them ideally suited for real-time analytics and data-intensive applications.
