Intel at ITS World Congress 2025 – Driving Real-World Edge AI Today!
We’ve just returned from ITS World Congress 2025 in Atlanta, the world’s largest gathering for intelligent transportation and mobility innovation. From August 24–28, the event brought together nearly 6,000 participants from 61 countries, all focused on shaping the future of safer, smarter, and more connected transportation.
This year’s event gave Intel, and our ecosystem partners, the opportunity to demonstrate how we’ve moved beyond the lab and into real-world deployment. Our edge AI solutions are already addressing safety, operational, and cost challenges for cities and transportation operators, powered by advancements in visual AI, sensor fusion, and edge computing.
Together with our partners, Intel is transforming transportation with intelligent, market-ready solutions that improve decision-making, automate operations, and scale impact across roadways, fleets, ports, airports, and rail systems.
Left to right: Prakash Kartha (Moderator, Intel), Mili Iyengar (Accenture), Mina Sartipi (UTC CUIP), Mogens Abel-Bache (CTO, Umovity), Aluisio Figueiredo (CEO, ISS), Renu N. Navale (VP & GM, Intel).
On Stage with Industry Voices
Our panel, “Smart & Agile Edge Infrastructure for Transportation,” featured leading voices from Intel, Accenture, Umovity , Center for Urban Infomatics and Progress at University of Tennesse at Chattanooga (CUIP), and Intelligent Security Systems (ISS). Moderated by Prakash Kartha, the discussion highlighted open-edge architecture, agentic systems, and scaling pilots to full production.
As Renu Navale emphasized: “Portability and openness aren’t nice-to-haves—they’re the foundation for scaling edge AI.”
Together Forward with Industry Partners
With a packed house of industry leaders across cities, DOTs, OEMs, ISVs, and platform partners, Intel’s David Guzzi and Renu Navale shared bold insights on celebrating execution and accelerating deployment, while Prakash Kartha’s introductions paved the way for candid discussions on portability, procurement, and security.
The Intel Team on the Ground
In addition to live demos and partner showcases, Intel’s transportation and edge AI leadership team was fully engaged throughout the week—meeting with customers, collaborating with ecosystem partners, and sharing insights that are shaping the future of intelligent mobility.

Why It All Matters
Transportation agencies and city operators require real-time, dependable insights at the edge. Intel delivers that with an approach grounded in open software, scalable hardware (CPU/GPU/NPU), and production-ready orchestration. In short, Intel edge AI is winning—because it’s open, portable, and ready for deployment, qualities customers demand right now.

Highlights from Our Live Demonstrations
Scene Analytics + GenAI Video Search
Transformed standard camera feeds into actionable insights—delivering counts, incidents, and context, plus GenAI-powered video search and summarization. All processing occurs on the edge—no cloud needed. This ensures rapid safety insights, reduced latency, and lower TCO using existing infrastructure.
Scene Analytics in Live Environments (Network Optix + Curiosity Lab)
Real-time traffic safety analytics in a living lab environment. Proving scalability from controlled labs to real urban infrastructure.
Agentic, Multimodal Traffic Analytics & Operations
An adaptive, multi-agent decision engine fused maps, live traffic, weather, and VMS data to dynamically optimize corridor operations. Enabling responsive and resilient routing powered by real-time context.
AI-Enabled Cybersecurity for Transportation Systems
Combined edge AI for traffic optimization with Intel security features—Secure Boot, Full Disk Encryption, Total Memory Encryption—and real-time threat detection. Ensuring uptime and safeguarding mission-critical infrastructure.
Fast-Track Edge AI: Intel Geti + Metro AI Suite
This end-to-end toolkit enables quick computer vision model building using Intel Geti, followed by ViPPET-based hardware scoring and benchmarking. Allowing for faster time-to-value and optimized hardware deployment.
Spatial Parking Analytics + People Flow Monitoring
Demonstrated AI-powered parking guidance and people-counting systems tailored for stations and venues. Enhancing parking utilization and ensuring smoother, safer crowd movement.
What this adds up to: proven, deployable edge AI for safety, operations, and lower TCO ready to scale across corridors and regions.
Open, portable, and deployable edge AI isn’t a future promise — it’s happening now.
