I210-IT temporarily ethernet faults: Linux reports link up/link down events

Hello,

we are using the I210-IT (Part number: WGI210IT S LJXS) in our custom made PCB. Sometimes the ethernet communication has some issues (temporarily timeouts). The operating system running on the PCB (including a SOM -> Q7 module) reports link up/link down events.

What we found out till now: Disabeling the auto negotation is improving the behaviour, less errors but not fixing it.

We followed the recommandation of the datasheet and disabled the 1GBit/s mode via hardware (MDI lines pulled up to 1V5). We also tried to disable the 1Gbit/s mode via software (writing to the EEPROM) but it seems that this is failing.

There is also ethernet config tool: eeupdate64e tool

Could somebody tell me where the latest config files are downloadable for the i210 chip?

BR,

Thomas
