Atom E3930 HSUARTS

We are using an Atom E3930 processor in our design. The design is going to be running Ubuntu Server addition and we would like to utilize the Atom HSUARTS for serial comms. Using lspci I can see what I think are the UARTS on a signal processing block. dmesg also shows two 16550a devices on /dev/ttyS4 and S5. Again, I think those are the UARTS. Are my findings correct?

Hello, @MCarr36:

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

The GPIO HSUART Header File document # 613829 has information that may help you. It can be found when you are logged into your Resource & Design Center (RDC) privileged account on the following website:

http://www.intel.com/cd/edesign/library/asmo-na/eng/613829.htm

The RDC Account Support form is the channel to process your account update request or any inconvenience related to the provided website. It can be found at:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/forms/design/contact-support.html

By the way, the Operating System (OS) mentioned on your previous communication is unlisted as supported as you can confirm on page 4 of the Product Brief: Intel Atom(R) Processor E3900 Series, Intel(R) Celeron(R) Processor N3350, and Intel(R) Pentium(R) Processor N4200 document # 334896 that can be found at:

https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getContent/334896

Due to this fact, your implementation should be test and validated on your own.

Best regards,

@Mæcenas_INTEL.
