ethernet controller access to cpu

I am comparing processors for a new product x6425 and the C3508 I cannot find any details on the integrated ethernet controllers. What I am trying to find is how is the ethernet controller connected to the CPU? Is it via an internal PCIe lanes or is it via HSIO lanes? If HSIO, Is there any information with details on HSIO that I could have access too?

Thanks in advance for your help
