Hi Intel peoples,
I have a relatively new install of Ubuntu, with neither my laptop's built-in speakers nor something plugged into the headphone jack appearing in the sound settings. However some very limited sounds are heard. For example I do hear a "dong" sound when doing backspace in the terminal when there is nothing to erase.
I have done a bit of troubleshooting and I'm pretty sure it's the drivers. I have seen threads with similar issues but they all seem to be different versions of Ubuntu or different audio things.
Thanks
(p.s. i'm not quite sure if i categorized this post correctly)

Hi @userdotexe ,
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
Intel does not offer audio solution for a laptop’s speakers; it is only available through HDMI or DP interfaces. I recommend you contact your laptop manufacturer channel of support.
Best regards,
