We have industrial customers asking for how long they will be able to buy Intel Core 6th gen based industrial computers. The consumer 6th gen CPU has been discontinued for many years, but I have difficulties to get a clear answer what is that status when it comes to the embedded CPUs.
Are they still in production or are they EOL. Is the answer that when the inventory at Advantech and other manufacturers/distributors is empty, then it will not be possible for customers to buy new industrial computers based on the 6th gen Intel Core,, and they will need to look for 2nd hand products at eBay ?

Hello, @CarlosAM_INTEL
I only find information about EOIS, ESU and EOSL date. No clear information if and when the actual CPU's went EOL - or will no longer be manufactured and possible to buy.
Please advise regarding the i5 and i7 CPUs from the 6th gen below, or at least inform me where I can get a clear answer if they are still in production, if not when production stopped, and what inventory I can expect is available for Advantech and other vendors to be able to produce 6th gen legacy new hardware. For me it is obvious that our customers with a lot of old legacy systems will have to stick with 6th gen for many years to go, especially since they use PCI-cards with only 32-bit drivers.
If the 6th gen embedded CPUs are no longer manufactured, I need to be able to inform my customers for how long they can expect to be able to update their 32-bit legacy systems with new hardware. - from the existing stock Advantech and other vendors have in inventory

Hello, @info_rqptech:
Thanks for your reply.
It is important to clarify the availability time of a device depends on the demand of it. However, Intel generally keeps their devices available for seven years since their launch date.
However, if you need more details, feel free to address your consultations to the Intel Authorized Distributor located in your geo that you consider can assist you better. They are listed at:

Hello @CarlosAM_INTEL @CarlosAM_INTE
Seven years from launch is year 2022.
I cannot get a clear answer from the Intel Authorized Distributors in my region (the Nordics), they actually refer me to Intel for clarification on this issue. And from many point of views it seems quite logical that the manufacturer should be able to clarify if the 6th gen embedded CPUs for i5 and i7 is still manufacturered, and if "yes" for how much longer. And if not, when was manufacturing canceled, and how much stock is assumingly available at the Intel Authorized Distributors and HW vendors such as Advantech.

Hi @CarlosAM_INTEL
From what I can see the embedded i5-6500 and i7-6700 where on July 10, 2020 moved to Intel Intenet of Things (IoT). After that I cannot find any information about life-cycle, planned EOL, last-buy etc.
Intel(R) Core¬ i7-6700 Processor Intel(R) Core¬ i5-6500 Processor Intel(R) Core¬ i5-7500 Processor Intel(R) Core¬ i5-7500T Processor Intel(R) Core¬ i7-7700 Processor Intel(R) Core¬ i7-7700T Processor , PCN 117184-01, Product Support, Transitioning from In
Shall this be interpreted that Intel is still manufacturing these 6th get CPUs and as per today there is no end date planned to manufacturing these 6th get CPUs for the IoT/Embedded customers?
It should be helpful if Intel could provide a life-cycle plan for the 6th get embedded CPUs
Thanks for your support !
