Hi ,
Could you tell me if there is an internal watchdog in the N97 processor, and if so, how to drive it.
Thanks.

Hello @Keith6 ,
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
The N97 processor includes a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) watchdog as part of its chipset features. This watchdog is typically enabled by the BIOS or operating system and is designed to automatically issue a warm reset in the event of a system hang. However, it is important to note that the TCO watchdog does not provide full coverage for all possible hang scenarios, especially during power-up sequences or before the operating system is fully operational, which on this case it is recommended to implement an external watchdog. To implement this feature you might need to work with your BIOS vendor, additionally during OS handling you can get support from OS vendors or refer to the Intel® 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer Manuals
Best regards,
Jaime L.
