Hi,
I am trying to enable SFI in Linux kernel of Minnow Max. I am using the Yocto distribution. Minnow Max came with UEFI installed. Bootloader is GRUB2.
I disabled ACPI, enabled CONFIG_SFI in the Linux kernel. This configuration was not successful and kernel hangs when it goes to mount file system. The UEFI firmware is not providing any SFI tables.
Where can I get the firmware that writes SFI tables in the memory? Any guidance or support in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello madeeha,
On the following link you can find all the firmware images that are available for the Minnowboard:
http://elinux.org/Minnowboard:MinnowMax# Firmware http://elinux.org/Minnowboard:MinnowMax# Firmware
However we have consulted with our engineers and they confirmed to us that Atom E38XX series processor doesn't support the Simple Firmware Interface and that this feature is not on Plan of Record.
We'll always try to answer your questions on a timely manner and on the best way that we can. However I would like to suggest the following support channels for the Minnowboard:
http://www.minnowboard.org/irc/ http://www.minnowboard.org/irc/
http://lists.elinux.org/mailman/listinfo/elinux-minnowboard http://lists.elinux.org/mailman/listinfo/elinux-minnowboard
Cirtcuitco (the manufacture of the board), has access to more information regarding the design of the board, and can provide you with better support, also on their forums you will find experienced Minnowboard users.
Best Regards,
Jimmy.
