Why Intel QAT kernel API doesn't support RSA?

I read: Current implementation of Intel® QuickAssist API for Kernel space only supports Symmetric cryptography and Data compression services.

Which means QAT kernel API doesn't support asymmetric crypto like RSA. Does anyone know why this is the case?
