Hi.
We have made a custom circuit board using the Xeon D-1559 processor.
Whether we use Windows 10 / CentOS 8 (Linux):
1. Our attempts to shutdown (poweroff) through GUI & command line don't work.
1.1. The circuit board goes through the usual steps to shutdown.
1.2. But after no signal is detected by our monitor (after scanning through VGA, DVI & HDMI), after a few seconds, the board restarts.
2. The only way we can poweroff is to manually switch off the chassis which contains our circuit board. Normal & long press on the circuit board's power button also does the same restart mentioned above, instead of shutdown.
3. So far, we've tried the following steps:
3.1. Turned off Wake on LAN in the BIOS. We searched in the BIOS for Wake on USB, but we couldn't find such a setting.
3.2. Tried some power management options in Windows 10 / CentOS 8 (Linux) according to suggestions we found on the Internet.
But nothing has worked. What do you advise ?
Thanks.

Should have typed:

Hi.
Related questions below:
Viewing the Xeon D-1559 as a black box on a circuit board:
1. Are there signals we can check on an oscilloscope and determine that:
1.1. the processor will shutdown ? (Where are these signals on the circuit board ?)
1.2. the processor will restart ? (Where are these signals on the circuit board ?)
2. Is there a manual / other document with descriptions of:
2.1. the shutdown & restart process ?
2. 2. the signals mentioned in question 1 ?
Thanks.

Hello @Siddhartha,
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
Just to clarify, this processor is not supported anymore as you may see in the following link:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022396/processors.html
As for your questions, you may check the power rails, specifically the S0 to S5-G3 sequence, you can use this document:
But you will need a Premier account to get access to it.
Best regards,

Hi.
Thanks @Diego_INTEL. We were able to get the Reset & Power Sequencing document.
When we tried to shutdown:
1. PLTRST_N went low & then went high. (We think it shouldn't go high.)
So we are checking our setup. If you have suggestions, please let us know.
Thanks.
