Intel PCI Device Issues

Greetings,

In Device Manager, there are two PCI devices listed under Other devices. These devices are:

- PCI Serial Port

- PCI Simple Communications Controller

Both denote configuration issues, particularly "The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)".

For context, the PCI Serial Port has a:

- Hardware ID of: VEN_8086&DEV_06E3&SUBSYS_1B9715D9&REV_00

- PCI Lookup Description of: Comet Lake Keyboard and Text Redirection

For context, the PCI Simple Communications Controller has a:

- Hardware ID of: VEN_8086&DEV_06E0&SUBSYS_1B9715D9&REV_00

- PCI Lookup Description of: Comet Lake HECI Controller

The CPU being utilized is a Intel Xeon W-1270TE. The Operating System being utilized is Windows Server 2016.

Relevant Intel chipsets and additional drivers appear to have all been installed; what is causing these to remain in such a state is unknown.

The generic PCI Controller driver appears to work for the PCI Serial Port device, but still denotes "The device isn't using any resources because it has a problem" for the PCI Simple Communications Controller device.

Resolution on how rectify this, perhaps including relevant drivers, would be appreciated.

The former is, I believe, resolved by the Serial I/O package, which you should have been supplied with by your motherboard/system vendor. If you cannot find the package on your vendor's website, let me know; I have one (for the Gen 10 NUCs) in my archive that you could try using (aside: one that oddly enough is not included in the packages offered by ASUS since they took over the NUCs).

The latter is the interface for the Intel Management Engine. This package should resolve it: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/682431/intel-management-engine-drivers-for-windows-10-and-windows-11.html.

Hope this helps,
