I had my whole pc crashing while playing games but only while on ethernet so i wanted to update my driver but on the website it say version 31.2 from 5/26/2026 (for windows 10) (see screen 1)

but when i install it, windows says the driver version is 1.1.4.45 from 03/02/2025 (see screen 2)

So, is my driver updated ? if not, how can i fix that ?

Hello pixel_restrike

Apologies, Just a small correction, I took the controller to be I219-V, as it is I22-V, so the driver should be e2f/e2fn. As per release notes(link shared previously), the e2fn driver for Windows 11 is 2.1.5.7 and for Window 10 1.1.4.45 (which is correct one that you have). You can try a re-installation using the Intel driver link given previously - Complete driver pack. You can also try a clean re-installation by following the article:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058304/ethernet-products.html

Also, we suggest to check with system/board manufacturer site, if they have a different driver just in case.

Hello pixel_restrike

We understand your concern. I just want to clarify few things.

  1. The I219-V is a client grade ethernet controller. This is embedded on board. It is recommended that the driver should be installed from the system/board manufacturer's support site. Sometimes, There are some generic drivers pushed by MS windows as well. Your case could be either of it based on what images you have shared. You can still use the Intel drivers as well.
  2. How to ensure you have latest driver:

a) You can check the Ethernet release notes 31.2.2 - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/content-details/778690/intel-ethernet-controller-products-release-notes.html?DocID=778690.

b) This has list of all the driver. Your driver name should be E1D. As per the above link, the right driver for Window 11 OS version should be 12.19.2.65 (As seen in Device manager > network adapter). If you are using windows 10, then it should be 21H2: 12.19.2.65 RSS: 12.18.9.10.

Note: How to check if your Controller supports the OS: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000055236/ethernet-products/gigabit-ethernet-controllers-up-to-2-5gbe.html

Now speaking of installing the latest driver, you can use the Intel Ethernet complete driver pack:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15084/intel-ethernet-adapter-complete-driver-pack.html

Steps:

1.  Download the latest software package from the support website and transfer it to the system.

2.  Extract the downloaded software package to your hard drive.

3.  If the Found New Hardware Wizard screen is displayed, click Cancel.

4.  Navigate in your extracted files to \APPS\SETUP\SETUPBD and then the Windows subfolder corresponding to your version of Windows (32-bit or 64-bit).

5.  Inside the Winx64 or Win32 folder, double-click on SetupBD.exe.

6.  Complete the steps in the installation wizard.

Please try this suggested steps and let us know if this resolves your issue. Happy Troubleshooting !!
