I225-IT that is used with real-time applications and cameras lead to loss frames

Hi everyone,

We've been experiencing increased issues with the Intel® Ethernet Controller I225-IT.

Many industrial PCs are equipped with these Ethernet controllers, often used in conjunction with cameras, such as those from Basler.

The problem is that while data transmission works, this Ethernet controller encounters issues with lost frames in real-time applications, which unfortunately leads to significant problems.

Other Ethernet interfaces like I350, I219, and I210 do not exhibit these issues. Therefore, the problem is clearly attributable to the I225-IT interface.

Do any of you have experience with this or possibly solutions?

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I don't get a picture of the camera's lost frames.

But I suspect that this is a fundamental problem with the Ethernet interface.

If you use cameras from Basler you also have to downgrade the camera for it to work.

It's not about a specific model but really explicitly about this interface.

The PC has another Ethernet controller where the problem does not exist.

The same thing happens on other PCs that have the same Ethernet controller installed.

So it can be traced back to the Intel I225-IT.

Hi msven3,

Greetings!

It would be great if you could specify the model for further analysis. And also, please confirm if the controller is embedded on the system.

Dinesh
