Intel Corporation 82598EB 10-Gigabit AF Dual Port Network Connection (rev 01) supports FCOE

Hi,

I have Intel X520 Card and i am trying to set it up open fcoe in Redhat 6.X host. I am unable to find wwpn number I am doubt whether my card supports is CNA capable that is it support fcoe or I need to load any drivers.

I have Intel x520 10 Gig card.

Below is the lspci output

Thank you for the post. What is the serial number of you X520?

You may look for the complete serial# at the white sticker on the NIC itself.

Thank you for the information. The serial number looks different, can you please locate the serial number on the white sticker (with bar code) on the network adapter. The format goes like 15 digits + 5 digits + 6 - 3 digits.

The X520-DA2 is in the supported FCOE network adapter list

Hi Wb,

Its in remote location hence i am unable to get the serial # . I have asked remote admin to share the serial number and yesterday he have shared model numbers instead of serial number hence. I will requested again to share serial number and i have not got reply. I am waiting for reply.

By seeing exact model number in Intel website it concludes that it will support Fcoe.

Now I am hitting another problem. Modules not supported is any specfic model for this card?

Intel X520 series network adapter required the use of supported modules.You may refer to this website for the support modules, scroll down to refer to the table:

Sorry I cannot able to get this serial number as this in Server and they are testing for other things. I dont have supported modules Is there any way i can mask this this supported modules check?

Our X520 series network adapter used 82599 ethernet controller, but based on your output

it shows 82598EB ethernet controller, that is why I would like to know the exact serial number

to identify the NIC. You may refer to this link for the list of X520 showing 82599 as the ethernet controller http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products/000005612.html

You may refer to the list of supported X520 series network adapter that supports FCOE which I provided earlier.
