I have been using the Intel PROSet Adapter Configuration Utility for over the last 8 years now. I recently upgraded several Windows 2019 Server to Intel PROSet version 30.2.0.3 from version 29. After doing so I am seeing error messages within PROSet version 30. However, there is a bigger problem. When you uninstall PROSet version 30 all Intel NIC adapters become unusable. At this time I have the Intel X710-T4L adapters within our datacenter. We have seen this same issue with ever server that installed was installed with PROSet Adapter 30.2.0.3. There is now way to recover other than to re-image the sever.
I've see on Intel's website where PROSet was just recently discontinued in favor of Powershell. I see this as a step backwards as PROSet offer quick and easy to access to information needed within Windows Sever regarding all Intel NICs. I use CLI daily but PROSet is superior to Powershell when it comes to making changes within our X710-T4L configuration.
I have tired calling Intel to report this problem directly, but they disconnected their tech support line at 408-765-8080. I would like to work with someone from Intel to see if there is a way to fix these bugs in PROSet version 30.x.x.x.

As I have continued to test different combination of Intel NVM Updates, Drivers, and version of PRO Set, I have found that the problem is directly related to the X710-T4L card but not the X710-T4 cards. The slightly older X710-T4 cards all work just fine with PROSet 30.x.x.x. In identical servers, with identical hardware, drivers, and firmware, it is only servers which have the newer X710-T4L that are having this issue. I will continue testing.

I need to clarify something from my post today saying how only the X710-T4L cards are affected. That comment was in regards to the error message that shows up within PROSet when clicking on the different NIC ports. I have found that installing NVM 9.55 has help with the error message that was showing up in PROSet, however you have to wait about 5 seconds when clicking in between multiple NIC ports, otherwise there will be a different warning message that will appear. So at let this part of the problem is no longer an issue
However, in regards to the inability to use ANY Ethernet ports after uninstalling PROSet, that continues to remains and issue on all systems. This is still a major problem. With NVM 9.55 I can now at least uninstall the individual Ethernet Controllers from within Windows Device Manager, however even after restarting, they are all still unusable. Not only did uninstalling PROSet disable the ability to use my X710-T4L and X710-T4 ports, it has also made it impossible to use the two i210 Intel NICs embedded on the motherboard itself.
