Hello Samuel,
Good day!
We already heard from or engineering team. Kindly check the information below for their feedback.
We regret to inform you that we don't support MACSec at all. Development is looking into the the Authentication TLV, but there has been no plans made yet to support this.
Let us know if you have additional questions or clarifications.
Awaiting to your reply.
We will follow up after 3 business days in case we don't hear from you.

Hello Samuel,
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
Can you share if you have a specific model of Intel Ethernet Adapter in mind or have you already purchased one? Please also provide the Operating System you wish to install/use.
Looking forward to your reply.
Should there be no response from you, I’ll make sure to reach out after 3 business days.

Hello Crisselle,
We are currently using
700 series:
XXV710-DA2
XXV710-DA2T
X710-DA2
XL710-QDA2
and we plan to use 810 series:
the key request is to know if the PTP with integrated security mechanism will be supported in these cards?
We are using the HW timestamp and the support of the integrated security mechanism would require the Integrity check at HW level.
Thanks
Samuel

Hello Samuel,
Thank you for the patience on this matter. Please see below details for the response from our PTP experts.
E810 can support 2.1 version.
The Annex P of the standard is not mandatory.
Due to HW limitation the 710 do not support version 2.1
They would like to know more about what you are looking for from a security option.
We hope you don't mind sharing the additional information requested.
Looking forward to your reply.
To give you enough time on this, we will follow up after 4 business days.
Best regards,

Hello Crisselle,
the Annex P is now removed and in the latest 1588 Draft the Security is present in Annex S
And this option is optional too.
There are two main security options
1) PTP Integrated Security Mechanism (support of Authentication TLV ) - Support needed while HW timestamp is being used - mainly for higher accuracy solutions e.g. 5G
2) PTP External Transport Security Mechanisms e.g. MACsec - Support needed while HW timestamp with the capability of identifying the PTP packet after decryption.
Would like to know if any of these options are being planned for PTP security.
IF any other mechanism Intel is providing for PTP security, appriciate if you could provide inputs on the same.
Please note: we use only HW timestamp option as the application requires highly accurate clocks.
Thanks
Samuel
