e1000e last Intel release

Can someone point me to the last official Intel release of the e1000e Linux kernel driver? My understanding is this was previously supported directly by Intel, and has since then transitioned to Linux kernel developers, correct?

At present, Intel maintains standalone driver repositories only for the following drivers: Intel’s Ethernet software resources under the Intel official GitHub organization:

https://intel.github.io/ethernet-linux/

- igb

- ixgbe

- ice

- i40e

The e1000e driver is no longer distributed as a standalone package. For e1000e, all fixes, updates, and enhancements are now integrated directly into the upstream Linux kernel. This means that any improvements or patches are delivered through standard kernel updates rather than separate driver releases.

Greetings for the day!

As checked with our internal team, Intel no longer publishes a standalone e1000e Linux driver. The final Intel standalone release was e1000e v3.8.7 (Oct 2020).

All subsequent maintenance, fixes, and hardware enablement are delivered via the upstream Linux kernel. I219‑LM support is available starting from Linux kernel 5.4, using the in‑kernel e1000e driver.

For best results, Intel recommends using a distribution kernel aligned with or newer than kernel 5.4, rather than attempting to source an external driver package.
