HI
I have a networkcard with 2 QSFP+ and the Intel XL710-BM2 chipset on it.
It looks like this doesnt support use of Breakout cables to have 2x4x10G
Is that right or is that an firmware issue and I do have just to upgrade.
The board is from Silicom

Hello Imtelk
Thank you for posting in Intel Ethernet Communities.
You may find the supported cable from the Intel XL710 datasheet below:
Data Sheet: https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getcontent/332464
Since the board from Silicom, Can you also please share the PBA of the adapter. You may refer to the link below on where to find the PBA number
This would help us identify if you are using an Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM) or retail version of Intel Ethernet Adapter.

Thanks ... Due to the fact I even cant use the tool to switch the port mode its obviously not the right board but the right chip. Silicom wrote me that I need a XL710 per Port and not per Board...
Productnumber is PE340G2QI71-QS41 V:5.3

Hello Imtelk,
The product PE340G2QI71-QS41 V:5.3 identified as an OEM by Silicom and not Intel Retails Ethernet card.
As for supporting breakout cable, you can refer to the Ethernet Datasheet as provided in the post earlier.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
