Exploring an Open-Source Collaboration Opportunity with Intel — BlockOS
Hello Intel Open Ecosystem team,
I’m the developer of BlockOS, an independent open-source operating system project:
https://github.com/gurijb2016-afk/Blockos
BlockOS is a Unix-like operating system targeting x86-64 systems, with its own kernel, UEFI boot environment, userspace, filesystem/VFS layer, graphics stack, and driver infrastructure.
I’m currently working toward expanding BlockOS hardware support, and Intel hardware is one of the areas I would like to support deeply — including Intel CPUs, integrated graphics, networking, storage, and other platform components.
I found Intel’s Open Ecosystem initiative particularly relevant because Intel actively collaborates with open-source communities and contributes engineering resources to open-source projects.
I would therefore like to explore whether there is an opportunity for technical collaboration between Intel and the BlockOS project.
In particular, I would be interested in:
- guidance regarding Intel hardware enablement and driver development;
- relevant public documentation and open-source projects;
- technical feedback on BlockOS’s driver architecture;
- opportunities to connect with Intel engineers or developer/community teams;
- and, if appropriate, potential collaboration on improving Intel hardware support in BlockOS.
BlockOS is an actively developed project, and I would be happy to provide technical documentation, demonstrations, benchmarks, or additional information about the current architecture.
Thank you for your time. If this request would be better directed to another Intel team, I would greatly appreciate being pointed toward the appropriate contact.

I look forward to hearing from you.
