Inquiry about Retro Gaming Support old Dx9 & Dx9Alt on Intel GPU

Dear Intel Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to confirm whether the upcoming Intel Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, or any of your older GPUs, fully support retro gaming platforms like Fightcade 2, FBNeo, Flycast, or any other similar emulators. These platforms heavily rely on DirectX 9 & DirectX 9Alt. This information is crucial for my work as I run a small but fast-growing YouTube channel that uploads retro gameplay daily.

  1. Due to the large file sizes caused by old encoding, I have been planning to purchase a new GPU. My primary target was the RTX 5060 Ti for its AV1 encoding support. However, I recently learned from ChatGPT that Intel may release the BMG-G31 GPU with a new encoding called H.266, which would be a significant benefit for content creators. ChatGPT also informed me that Intel GPUs may have issues with older retro games due to support issue for old directX like Dx9, Dx9Alt and Dx11, which has raised concerns for me and led me to reach out for clarification.

As I have limited financial resources, I can only arrange money for only one purchase, and if I choose an Intel GPU and encounter issues with retro game support, it would severely impact my work. Therefore, I kindly request confirmation on the following two queries:

  1. Has Intel fully overcome the DirectX 9 & DirectX 9Alt driver issues? (Please reply to this as it is critical for my decision.)
  2. Will Intel provide H.266 support on the upcoming BMG-G31 GPU? (This answer is optional, and I have no problem if it’s unavailable.)

I would greatly appreciate any information you can provide. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
