CS2 crashed. The dump it generated mentions that Failure.Exception.IP.Module=igd10umt64xe.DLL  after I analyzed it with WinDbg.

My pc specs are the following:

- OS: Windows 11

- CPU: 1215U

- iGPU drivers: 32.0.101.7088

I attached the dump file in a zip file to this post.

Hi Rafa3,

Thank you for posting in the Intel® Community!

We have a few quick questions to help us better understand your issue:

  1. What is your system make and model? (laptop or desktop)
  2. When did this issue first start? Was it after a specific update?
  3. How often does the crash occur?
  4. Have you tried any other troubleshooting steps?
  5. Does this happen in other games or applications as well?
  6. How did you install your current graphics driver?

6. Please help generate the SSU logs of your system. Kindly refer to the link below on how to generate the logs:

Looking forward to your response!

Thank you Jobert.

  1. Lenovo V14 G3 IAP i3-1215U with 16GB DDR4
  2. The crashes seem random. During the last month, I had 6 dump files that CS2 generated and after reviewing them with WinDbg, all 6 of them showed the problem of Failure.Exception.IP.Module=igd10umt64xe.DLL. I reinstalled Windows hoping that would fix it. Nonetheless, the game crashed seconds after starting it.
  3. I do not know how to answer that question.
  4. Yes.
  5. Not yet.
  6. I downloaded it directly from the Intel drivers' website and I installed it as the usual.

The same Failure.Exception.IP.Module=igd10umt64xe.DLL happened twice between yesterday and today. I attach here the 2 dump files that CS2 created.

Hi Rafa3,

Thank you for your patience and for reaching out to the Intel Community.

Before we proceed with the troubleshooting, we would like to inform you of an important update regarding graphics driver support:

As of September 19, 2025, Intel will be moving 11th - 14th Gen Intel Processor Graphics and related Intel Atom®, Pentium®, and Celeron® processor graphics to a legacy software support model. Intel will provide software support for affected products on critical fixes and security vulnerabilities only. Software updates for these products will move to a quarterly release cadence with additional critical releases as needed. Only critical fixes and security vulnerabilities will be addressed in quarterly driver releases going forward.

Would you like to continue with the support? Please note that even if the issue is fixed by our developers, the fix will only come to Intel Ultra Core Series 1 or newer drivers and will not be included on the driver of your graphics card.

Please let me know your response and we will be happy to assist you further.

If yes, please answer the following:

  • Have you performed DDU with the latest OEM/Intel Generic driver?
  • Was it working properly before?
  • Does the issue occur on official CS2 maps? If so, what specific maps?

Please let me know your response and we will be happy to assist you further.

Yes, I'd like to continue.

1. I have not used the DDU tool. I used the Intel driver installer to install the latest driver, but I did not use the DDU tool to uninstall any older driver.

2. No.

3. Yes, Mirage, for example, and it has occurred outside any CS2 map.

The dump pointing to igd10umt64xe.dll does make the Intel graphics driver a likely suspect. Since it's an access violation occurring inside the graphics module, I'd be curious whether the crash is specific to CS2 or happens with other GPU-intensive applications as well. If you haven't already, testing with a clean graphics driver installation or an earlier stable driver version could help determine whether it's a driver regression.

I installed the driver manually using the installer provided directly by Intel's website.

How would I proceed then? Should I reinstall the 7088 driver and mark the check box "clean install"?

I believed that my current graphics driver (the latest 7088) installed cleanly.

CS2 crashed minutes ago in the "valve" logo stage (it stayed opened less than 10 seconds) and the dump file points to the igd10umt64xe error.

I have seen it crash with an older driver (32.0.101.6129), but I have more than 10 crash dump files with the latest driver.

I installed the driver cleanly the first time. I tried using the DDU utility even, and reinstalled windows to see if that may help. It didn't and I still got the same idg10umt64xe problem.

I now tried to install all the drivers utilities (Intel driver assistant) and intel computing improvement program, with a clean installs. Device manager says that the driver is the latest one (32.0.101.7088).

It didn't help to reinstall cleanly the driver. I still get the same random crashes

To reproduce the crash, I believe that I found a method that seems consistent. The preparations for the setup are the following:

1. Have the 32.0.101.7088 driver installed cleanly, and manually override Window's selection of the older driver in Device Manager.

2. Restart the PC

3. The crash does not ocurr if I launch CS2

4. Let the PC go to sleep into a "deeper state" as the crash does not seem to ocurr when the PC goes to "sleep" for less than a minute.

5. After that, unlock the PC and launch CS2.

6. The Failure.Exception.IP.Module=igd10umt64xe.DLL ocurrs (in the valve logo screen, and not inside a map).

7.  The crash does not seem to ocurr when I tried to put the PC to sleep, waited about a minute, and after that, I unlocked the PC and waited a couple seconds before launching CS2.

8. If I shutdown the PC or restart it, the crash does not ocurr if I launch CS2 before the PC goes to sleep after being restarted or turned on.

Hi Rafa3,

Thank you for providing the detailed reproduction steps. I truly appreciate the effort you have put into identifying a consistent method to reproduce the crash. This information has been very helpful for my investigation.

I would like to share the following update regarding my lab testing:

I attempted to reproduce the reported behavior using the provided reproduction steps on a comparable test platform with graphics driver version 32.0.101.7088. The test involved resuming the system from sleep and launching CS2 immediately afterward as described. However, I was unable to reproduce the crash on my end. Please note that my lab platform has different hardware specifications from your system, which may account for the difference in behavior.

Lab Test Platform:

CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H

GPU: Intel UHD Graphics

Driver Version: 32.0.101.7088

Discrete GPU was disabled to isolate Intel UHD Graphics

While I continue to investigate, I would like to ask the following additional questions:

  • Is your system BIOS updated to the latest version available from your OEM?
  • Does the issue occur with the OEM provided graphics driver?

Please share your responses at your earliest convenience so I can continue moving forward with the investigation.

Sorry for the delay. I didn't have much hope that you'd care, and thanks.

  1. The bios installed is the latest provided by Lenovo (JKCN53WW).

  2. The issue did indeed occur with the older driver provided by Lenovo (through Windows updates), and I haven't tried the driver that Lenovo provides in their Website (Intel_VGA_24H2_PR5_32.0.101.6314_4ID_Signed_V02_20241211).

The driver's version provided through Windows updates is 32.0.101.6129. However, I saw on my previous Windows installed that apparently Lenovo also provides (through Windows updates) the 32.0.101.7082, yet my current Windows install somehow is unable to download the 32.0.101.7082 driver automatically in Windows updates.

I will install the Intel_VGA_24H2_PR5_32.0.101.6314_4ID_Signed_V02_20241211 driver and let you know if the issue persists.

Strangely, using such driver seems to fix the crash in CS2 as I was unable to reproduce the seemly constant crashing of "returning-from-sleep", and I played some casual matches without random crashes.

Unfortunately now, using such driver presents a seemly random black artifacting in apparently all maps of the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops, which was not present with the 7088 driver provided by Intel. And while this has occurred in 2 multiplayer maps and I've yet tried the driver with all the non DLC maps, I failed to capture the black artifacting as this phenomena did not show up in the screenshots taken inside the game by pressing F12.

I tried capturing the artifacting with FRAPS to no avail, as the video captured does not reflect the clear artifacting that is present when playing the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops (steam version).

It crashes too.

Further testing aka playing and attempting to play more times resulted in the same Failure.Exception.IP.Module=igd10umt64xe.DLL with the driver from Lenovo's website (Intel_VGA_24H2_PR5_32.0.101.6314_4ID_Signed_V02_20241211).
