16x PCI-E purposes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at the Q57 Chipset system diagram ( http://www.intel.com/Assets/image/diagram/q57-block-diagram.gif View chipset system diagram ) and I can see that the processor has 16 PCI-E lanes directly connected. I guess that lanes can be used for video cards only, or can they be used for other purposes (e.g. others PCI-E devices such as a Network card) ?

Yes technically it can be used for something other then a video cards as long as the CPU you have has Integrated Graphics.
