Hi there,
Under Ubuntu 9.10, my laptop can drive my Dell S2409W monitor fine at 1920x1080. I just plug it in and away it goes, without any extra configuration. However under Windows (XP and 7), it refuses to go higher than 1680x1050.
I have the latest drivers (8.15.10.1930) and I've installed the monitor .inf file from Dell.
I've also tried using PowerStrip, but "Advanced Timing Options" is greyed out, presumably cos it doesn't support this chipset.
Any ideas anyone? ...and if any Intel techs are reading this: Please sort your drivers out! 1920x1080 isn't exactly an exotic resolution! 🙂
Thanks to anyone who can help. I've been at this on and off for about 6 months now
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200SE-24R PSAE4E
Ta!

Hi!
Have you tried one of these drivers: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-030193.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-030193.htm ?
The issue interest me a lot, as I'm planning to buy a 27" LG with 1920x1080, but have no wish to buy a new laptop instead of my MSI PR300 running on GMA X3100 and Win7.

Cheers for the link!
Just tried the Win7 x64 one and it hasn't made any difference unfortunately. I'm going to play around a bit more with it though, so I'll let you know how I get on. Poked the registry with DTD Calculator when I was trying to sort this problem last, so perhaps that's had some kind of adverse effect on this new driver.
I'll see what happens with a clean install when I get the time...
thanks again!

Thanks for info!
Seems like I'll have to wait with the new monitor, as these are out of stock for the moment. But I'll be gratfeul for any update on the issue
