ASRock Z890 Steel Legend WiFi (BIOS 2.11.AS01)
285K
G.Skill F5-8000J4048F24G x2
990 Pro
Seasonic Prime Titanium 750W
Windows 10 64-bit
Running this system with only the integrated GPU on the 285K at the moment. Memory is rated to run at 8000. However, when I set any value above 7200 (via XMP profile, including voltage adjustment to 1.35, and auto-timings) then I get small graphical artifacts across the display after booting into Windows. The artifacts increase in frequency the more programs are running or with a heavy load on the system.
When I set the memory to 7200 or below then the artifacts are completely gone, and system is completely stable.
Troubleshooting I've tried so far:
Removing RAM sticks and trying 1 at a time in slot 4, same result as when slot 2 and 4 are populated together. Both individually display artifacts above 7200, and both stop displaying artifacts when clocked down to 7200.
Tried various minor voltage increases to other CPU sub-systems, no effect.
Heavily loaded the system at memory speed 7200, completed several memory tests with no issue.
Tried with all CPU settings at stock, same results.
Tried with CPU ring bus at 4000, same results.
Tried Gear 2 and Gear 4, same results.
Tried a second HDMI cable, same results.
Apricate any guidance.
Thank you,
Glenn

Hello Strebor,
Good day!
Try the following suggestions:
- Follow the guide below to uninstall and reinstall HD Graphics driver. *Download the OEM graphics driver (Global) first.
- Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
- Expand Display Adapter, right-click the Intel Graphics entry, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click Delete the driver software for this device to delete the Intel HD Graphics driver, then click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, disconnect your computer from the internet and make sure it will not auto-connect on reboot. Restart your system.
- Unzip the file (OEM driver file) to a designated location or folder.
- Open Device Manager
- Expand the Display adapters section.
- Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software. Note: The graphics entry may be "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". *Please check if the artifacts occur using the Microsoft Basic Adapter as well.
- Click Browse my computer for driver software.
- Click Browse and select the directory where the driver files are found.
- Click Next. Drivers are now being installed.
- Reboot your computer when prompted.
Alternatively, you can use Intel® Driver and Support Assistant to download and install the HD Graphics driver.
- Perform a system restore to a point when the artifacts were not present. Steps to perform a System Restore in Windows® 10:
- In the Search option located in the start menu type Restore
- Select Create a Restore Point from the search results.
- Click System Restore.
- Click Next after the initial Wizard screen.
- Select either Recommended restore point or Choose a different restore point if you have manually made previous backups.
- Select a restore point from the list of available options.
- Click Next to finish.
