Hi, GT73.

Thank you for posting in our Community.

The issue you're experiencing with the Intel Arc 770 16GB graphics card and Photoshop's 3D map generation seems to be a compatibility problem. The error message suggesting to "Enable use GPU in preferences check the driver" indicates that Photoshop is not recognizing the GPU's capabilities despite the setting being active. This could be due to several reasons. It's possible that the drivers installed are not the latest or are not properly communicating with Photoshop or there could be a bug with the current version of Photoshop you are using, especially if it's a new release or a beta version. Based on the specification and image version of the graphics driver that you've shared, you're using graphics driver version 31.0.101.5379. Please be guided that Intel has released an updated graphics driver, version 31.0.101.5382, which could potentially resolve the problem you're experiencing.

Moreover, I would like to share with you this article about, how to set the default GPU for Applications and Games, which might also help fix the issue.

Looking forward to your response. Have a nice day!

Best regards,

Hi, thanks for the suggestion but I had already checked this procedure. Have you encountered this anomaly on other users?

Hi, GT73.

Thank you for your response.

We've tried to reproduce the problem on our side. To resolve it, please follow these steps:

  1. Launch Adobe Photoshop.
  2. Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance (on Windows).
  3. In the Performance preferences, look for the section titled Graphics Processor Settings.
  4. Ensure that the box next to Use Graphics Processor is checked
  5. If the issue persists, consider resetting Photoshop's preferences or updating your graphics drivers to the latest version.

This instruction/step will help you to be able to activate the 3D features in Photoshop through the use of the graphics processor. It's important to note, that Photoshop's 3D capabilities are being phased out. For comprehensive details, you may visit this article, 'Photoshop 3D | Common questions on discontinued 3D features'.

Furthermore, for us to replicate and investigate the issue more thoroughly, could you please provide a detailed, step-by-step narrative of how the issue occurs? If you could also share the specific Photoshop file you're working with, it would greatly aid our simulation and troubleshooting process.
