I meant 27.20.100.9030, not important though...all of the current 90xx drivers are affected.

Ok here the steps

1. Download MPC-HC 1.9.8.92: https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases

2. Download Summer Nature 3840x2160 AV1: https://www.elecard.com/videos

3. Open MPC-HC, go to options, click internal filters, click video decoder and choose Hardware Decoder DXVA2: https://imgur.com/a/UaNjvU7

...and then open the downloaded AV1 or any other AV1.

If your MPC-HC version is too old you have to install the newest LAV Filter manually and use external filter in MPC-HC: https://files.1f0.de/lavf/nightly/

I found that the D3D11 hardware decoder runs faster than DXV2 for AV1 videos which is possibly expected.

Hello MSchm21, I just received an update on this matter.

After reviewing the case, we can confirm that DirectX* 9 support for AV1 decoding has been disabled in the latest drivers since Intel® is on its way to deprecate native DirectX 9 support. AV1 decoding with DirectX 11 continues working as expected.

My reported DXVA2 AV1 issue has been fixed in driver 9168. Do you mean DXVA2 with DX9?
