If I boot to Windows 10, even without installing the Arc software, it automatically goes to 2560x1080 resolution for my HDMI LG monitor. But in Linux Mint 22 (Ubuntu 24.04 and kernel 6.8.0-45-generic) the highest option is 1920x1080. I installed the Linux Arc "drivers" per the instructions on the Intel website (
apt-get update
# Install the compute-related packages
apt-get install -y libze-intel-gpu1 libze1 intel-ocloc intel-opencl-icd clinfo
)
Since these are referred to as "compute packages" it's not clear to me that these constitute general desktop drivers (for display). Furthermore, most of the documentation dates for Linux are from 2023 or earlier. Is there a newer update somewhere for Ubuntu Linux? Is this resolution limit a known issue?

Hi warrenG1,
Thank you for posting in the communities!
For us to better understand the issue, kindly provide us with the information needed below:
- Can you provide us with the link of the Intel website that you are following?
- Is this the first time that the issue happens? or is it working fine before?
- Have you tried rolling back the drivers?
- What driver version do you currently have on your system?
Best regards,
Earl E.

Hi Earl,
Thank you for getting back to me.
At this point, I have returned the A310 to the store where I purchased it. In the course of testing things, I put the card into a different computer and that machine wouldn't even boot - motherboard error. I pulled the card out and installed a different video card and the computer booted fine. I was also concerned that none of my machines support rebar so performance was not likely to be very good.
The initial machine I tested with was a Dell 7810 workstation. Then I installed it in a Dell 7050 desktop tower (the one that wouldn't boot).
I have now acquired an HP Z8 G4 workstation that does have resizable bar support so I may purchase another ARC card for this machine.
I'm very glad to see that Intel is serious about supporting these cards, seeing as you have been persistent wrt this case.
Thank you for your help.
