This beta version driver is provided to confirm pending driver code changes that address numerous reported game play issues. A list of issues addressed is contained in the ReleaseNotes. A production version driver will follow in a few weeks, if the beta tests well.
This driver is being provided as a beta test driver, and while it has had limited validation testing by Intel, it is essentially a test driver and is not to be considered a permanent replacement for a fully validated and certified graphics driver. Any issues/comments unrelated to the issues addressed in https://downloadmirror.intel.com/25749/eng/ReleaseNotes_GFX_15%2040%204380_Beta.pdf ReleaseNotes may be deleted without notice.
- Use at your own discretion
While Intel may or may not address issues found in this beta version driver, we do welcome feedback particular to the issues listed in the ReleaseNotes that the driver addresses.
- Please note: this driver is not certified by Microsoft* and will generate a warning when installing.
The Windows BETA driver 15.40.18.4380 has been posted to Intel Download Center at the following direct links to the driver:
This driver is in self installing format (exe) intended for end users.

Well, there are some issues with the driver atm. You should post on what application / game you have problems, so they can look into it.

Hardware configuration: It's a Dell XPS 15 (9550) with i5 6300HQ and a NVIDIA Optimum configuration consisting of Intel HD Graphics 530 (20.19.15.4404) and NVIDIA 960M (2GB/DDR5; 364.72 or 358.94).
Evertime I use IE/Edge or Chrome (I didn't test any other browsers) on a WebGL website, the graphics driver of the Intel 530 crashes and Windows 10 recovers it. Immediately the frame rate drops from 60fps to less than 20fps. Some minutes later I notice text and box rendering problems in the browser windows aswell in Windows 10's window compositor.
If I assign manually the NVIDIA GPU to the browsers, they work fine! except the window compositor of Windows 10.
I didn't test any other applications on the Intel GPU but I think that it's a general poblem with 3D acceleration.

I have i7 6700k with Intel HD 530. I tried WebGL page in IE and Chrome but in Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and I had no problem at all. The intel graphic drivers have some issues. I temporary solved those issues till new driver gets released by doing the following: go to Internet Options / Advanced tab and enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode.
Note that this may not work for you as you have different configuration and other Operating system.

Lol. Is the last version of Kubuntu ?
I tested also on linux and if you don't download and recompile the latest drivers with all patches, the graphic driver will not work ...

It is, indeed. But really: Is it possible that two different drivers by two different developer teams on two different operating systems have exactly the same bug? And a BIOS problem should affect more than one customer

It is possible to be a bios or customization driver problem. Have you tried the drivers that dell is providing ? Or updating bios ?

I did all that. But it does't change the fact that two different drivers on two different operating systems have the same exotic bug - hanging gpu when using 3d acceleration. And this shouldn't even be the case if the kernel driver isn't fully compatible. It's loaded (mesa-utils) and used (Intel HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2) with OpenGL 3.3.).

I know what you mean, but you are the second person with almost same problem I see here. The other person has a problem with a laptop from MSI also with 2 graphic cards ...
In any way, I'm sorry that you have problems, but whatever problem your laptop has it will end up at dell, or from where you bought it. I don't think there is to much you can do...

Also sometimes when resizing pages the text becomes granulated and it dissapears
Other video card driver from other company had same issue and it was fixed like is described here: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/windows-7-windows-vista/18327-stackhash-appcrash-issue-windows-7-sp1.html [SOLVED] Stackhash APPCRASH issue, Windows 7 SP1
I temporary found a fix, that proves it is the graphical driver or its components, by Enabling 64-bit processes for Enhanced Protected Mode in Internet Explorer Options, and not even a single error or text problems.
Also in game Fallout 4 after patch 1.2.37, till the last 1.5
textures and all other details are a big mess. Only lines and planes
Does it fail every single time, or only sometimes?
