Bug reports: HD graphics and OpenGL/DirectX

Is this the right place for bug reports?

Two problems noticed using Intel HD graphics (Arrandale Core i3):

FastPictureViewer reports DirectX acceleration is not supported.

As stated on their site, their implementation is correct and works with the DirectX reference implementation:

So the bug must be with Intel hardware or drivers.

Photoshop OpenGL acceleration is on, but forced to basic.

Adobe lists as requirements: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404898.html

  • has at least 256 MB of RAM.
  • has a display driver that supports OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0,

These are old standards and Intel claims support for both, so full acceleration should work.

Intel's graphics hardware has been progressing fast, but the software still seems to be lagging, and doesn't have the DirectX/OpenGL support it claims to. I'm hoping driver updates will fix this.
