Can´t "duplicate displays" since update to Windows 10

I can extend the displays, see the second display only but the option to "Duplicate" the display disappeared from the setting options. I am trying to connect a TV through the hdmi cable and it´s works good with the other options but not with "duplicate".

I already update the drivers with the wizard of Intel, windows update and nvidia update and nothing happens. I contacted nvidia technical support and they told me si something about my graphic card which is a Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Does anybody can help me to fix this problem and duplicate the displays.

Hello Jose_Gregorio:

In order to better assist you we just need to verify a few details:

What is the model of your processor?

What is the model of the motherboard?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of the laptop?

Did you saw the option to 'duplicate" on this PC before?

Are you using the Nvidia video card or the graphics from the processor?

We need to verify all that information, because the Intel® HD graphics 3000 are not supported by Windows® 10, as you can see on the following link:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005526.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005526.html

So, probably that is the reason why you do not get the option to duplicate the displays.

Also, if you are using an Nvidia graphics card, remember that when you use an external graphics card the graphics from the processor get disable, so in that case, the best thing to do will be to get the drivers from Nvidia directly:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Any questions, please let me know.

Hi Alberto, thank you very much for your answer, here you have a printscreen of my "This pc" option.

I did not have the "duplicate" option before windows 10, but I have the "extend" option with window 7 with hdmi cable and the sound was from the TV, when I updated to windows 10 I still do not have the "duplicate" option but I also lost the sound from the TV, now the sound is from the laptop.

I already wrote to nvidia techincal support, we update all the drivers and nothing happens, but look at this Alberto: I uninstall the intel graphic card and the nvidia graphic card and work with microsoft grapchic card (or something like that) and then, I can "duplicate", when microsoft live update get the updating for all the drivers, I lost "duplicate" option again.

Hello Jose_Gregorio:

I just wanted to let you know that after we did the research on why the option to "duplicate displays" is not showing, the reason for that could be because the manufacturer, in this case Dell, has limited the capabilities of the system.

In those cases the drivers that will work properly are the ones provided by Dell, or the drivers that are called "inbox' drivers, which are the ones that get installed when you installed Windows®.

In addition, the option "clone displays" is the same as "duplicate displays", so if you see that option, you can always try it.

Also, as an option you can always try to get in contact with Dell directly, in order to find out if they have an specific driver for you to install or if they have a possible solution for this situation:

Dell's phone number: +1 800-624-9897

Dell's support site: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04 http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04

Any questions, please let me know.

Hello Jose_Gregorio:

Thank you for that information.

Since Windows® 10 does not support Intel® HD Graphics 3000, maybe that is why the option to clone displays is not showing.

At this point you can use the Inbox drivers from Microsoft®, those are the ones that get installed when you installed Windows® or to do a Windows update to get the latest drivers from Microsoft®, or to try to get the latest graphics driver from Dell® directly.

If that still does not work, then it will be better to get in contact with Dells® directly for further assistance or to find out if it is a hardware problem.

Any questions, please let me know
