ok so i had a gtx 1650s card and i upgraded it to the asrock arc a580. the nvidia card had a 8 and 12bpc color depth availability but not the intel card. i had both cards connected via hdmi to hdmi on the same monitor same hdmi port same cable. ive read some threads on the topic saying that the monitor has to have the HDR feature enabled to permit the 10bpc (and above) but although my monitor does not have the HDR feature, (with the nvidia card) it could still change to 12bpc when selected, displaying the actual change in the colors. i want to know if its something that a new driver can fix or is it hardware depended? color depth is important option to choose.
Thanks

hi again, thanks for the reply. it turns out that the problem was the INTEL ARC CONTROL program, ive downloaded the intel command center and i found all the color settings available, i guess intel needs to expand/update the arc control options because at the moment it feels like a beta 'unfinished' version of a gpu controller.

Manually setting the color depth was quite a problem with Intel graphics until recently.
But since driver version 32.0.101.5768, this should no longer be an issue. Please update your Arc A580 to the latest driver and then try to make the desired setting in the Intel Graphics Command Center. Please check this:

To check the data your monitor sends to the graphics driver over the cable, please create a Report for Intel Graphics Drivers and attach the output file here.
Which cable from which manufacturer and which type (USB-C/DisplayPort/HDMI) do you use?
