I got an HP laptop with Intel HD graphics 5500 chip. I have upgraded it from 4g to 8g for system. But HP locked the DVMT pre-allocated memory at 32mb and provides no option in the bios setup for the use to change to a larger amount. I hope Intel can encourage third party computer manufacturers using Intel integrated graphics chips to allow users to adjust the DVMT settings in bios. If the DVMT pre-allocated memory can be increased, the potential of Intel graphics chip can be unleashed to its full. On the contrary, if DVMT settings are locked and cannot be adjusted, it is a waste of the Intel HD graphics chip as well as the increased system ram.
