Direct x 12 suddenly not working

On fortnite since i installed the new season yesterday, directx 12 hasnt been working. Whenever i set it to dx12 in game settings and restart its back to dx11 which causes me crashes. I have tried changing the config file etc but nothing has worked at all. However when i put a command into the epic games launcher to run fortnite at dx12, i get a message saying dx12 is not supported on this system, try running without the -d3d12 or -dx12 prompt (so i think this is a solution if that message goes away), but it definitely is supported because i was using it fine before and when i first installed fortnite it was running dx12 by default! i have also uninstalled the epic games launcher and reinstalled it and fortnite, but it only caused more problems because now my game crashes whenever i change a setting ingame.

My drivers all are up to date, and im all out of options. gpu is the intel arc a770 if that matters.

Check your system with DXDIAG.EXE (Right-click Windows start button -> execute)

Hello zzay,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you.

To better assist you, we would like to gather more inforamtion about your issue, so please provide us with the following:

  • Was there any other system update besides the Game's update?
  • Are you only experiencing issues with Fortnite?
  • When the game crashes, is there any error message? If so, provide us with a screenshot of the error message.
  • Share with us a screenshot of the error message stating that DX12 is not supported.
  • Create a system report using Intel®️ System Support Utility (Intel®️ SSU), to gather more information about your system:
    • Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel®️ SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click "Next"; then "Save."

For testing purposes, you can try the Display Driver Uninstaller. Check How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver for instructions. Once you run the tool, you should install the latest driver from Intel driver, 31.0.101.4699. The DDU tool will eliminate all drivers and leftover files from previous driver versions, and we can discard that there are driver leftovers causing your issue.

I was able to fix it, it was a driver issue. I used intels driver and support assistant for my drivers, however it failed to actually show me the latest GPU drivers and it still isnt showing up. Once i took a look at the actual driver page here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html i was able to intall the latest drivers and the issue was fixed

I was able to fix it by updating drivers, the intel driver and support assistant wasnt and still isnt showing the latest driver for my gpu, and since epics support page takes me there, i assumed my drivers were up to date. I found the correct latest driver here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/search.html#sort=relevancy&f:@tabfilter=[Downloads]&f:@stm_10385_en=[Graphics]&f:downloadtype=[Drivers] and now everything works fine

I have the same problem. Direct X 12 not working after new season update. Uninstalling the drivers didn't help (Display Driver Uninstaller).
My GPU is Arc A770.
