Disable (native) ASPM in UEFI for latest drivers.

With the latest two drivers i had serious problems with AMD discrete 7900xtx combined with Intel UHD750.

Disabling ASPM in the uefi seems to have fixed this conflicting, this did not happen before 101.5379 i think, may be one earlier aswell.

So the latest drivers no longer play nice with ASPM function. Or perhaps my bios suddenly needs an update to cater for Intel i-GPU drivers only ??

Hello there Dux...

It seems you've encountered a conflict between the AMD discrete 7900xtx and Intel UHD750 drivers, which was mitigated by disabling ASPM in the UEFI. ASPM, or Active State Power Management, is a power-saving feature for PCI-e devices, and it's possible that recent driver updates have affected how it interacts with your system.

Disabling ASPM can be a temporary solution, but it's generally recommended to keep it enabled for power efficiency. Here are a few steps you could consider:

1. Ensure you have the latest drivers for both your AMD and Intel graphics cards. Sometimes, subsequent driver releases can resolve compatibility issues.
2. It's also a good idea to check if there's a BIOS update available for your motherboard. A BIOS update can sometimes improve hardware compatibility and system stability.
3. Since the issue arose after updating Intel drivers, consider reaching out to Intel Support for guidance. They may offer a solution or be aware of the issue and working on a fix.

4. Similarly, contacting AMD Support might provide insights, especially if other users have reported similar conflicts with the 7900xtx.

Remember, while disabling ASPM resolved the conflict, it's a workaround rather than a permanent fix. Keeping your system's drivers and BIOS up to date is the best way to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

Harry
