Hi,
I've just installed Intel Inf found here : http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18494 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18494
on my server running Windows Small Business Server 2008 SP2. The chipset is P45.
Everything is done remotely with Remote Desktop, during the install the connexion has been lost (session closed or something like that I guess).
Now, when I try to logon I got the following error : "A device attached to the system is not functioning." The server is up and running, I can browse shared fils, connect to SQL Server but no way to connect with Remote Desktop.
Someone know how to fix it (remotely if possible) ?
Thanks.

Hello Guillaume,
Which board is this?
Can you please post the AA number for the board?
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-009009.htm
You may get the AA number from the bios sometimes.
However if the board is booting, you can try the Intel Board ID utility.
http://www.intel.com/support/idyp.htm http://www.intel.com/support/idyp.htm
If you can still go into the bios, what is the bios version, full string would be better to have.
Then go to Additional System Information >> Desktop Board Information
Try the Intel Tool called Intel Desktop Utilities, you may find the board model.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.

Actually, the motherboard isn't from Intel, Asus I guess, I'll check the model tonight if it matters.

Everything is back after a reboot (using shutdown command to restart remotely without RDC/TSE connection).
