Hi guys,
This thread title ended up being longer than I expected.
I am a software engineer at muvee (www.muvee.com) and work on the opengl rendering of muvee Reveal X.
Recently I have been informed that on some machines, the "Reflections" style is not showing the user image.
The machine in question has the following specs.
1. DELL 3350
2. Intel HD 3000 onboard graphics
3. Windows 7 professional (64 bits)
4. Driver version 8.15.10.2696
5. Driver date: 19/3/2012
Based on the feedback from our end-user and after some investigations, I found out that the openGL stencil buffer support is faulty. It worked fine in the previous driver version. However with the new driver update, the user image simply does not show up.
I'm not quite sure what has changed in the driver implementation but I thought you guys should know about this issue we are having. The problem only happens on the above mentioned graphics card, with the above mentioned OS and with the specific above mentioned driver version.
Should you wish to dig deeper into the problem, you can download our trial photo/video editing software at www.muvee.com to get the trial version and then try out our "Reflections" style.
I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hello,
I notice you are currently using the previously graphics driver version. To get the latest graphics driver version 8.15.10.2761 go to the link below:
Bear in mind the latest Intel graphics drivers provide support for the OpenGL version 3.0.
Regards,
Michael

Hello Micheal,
We have updated the driver to the latest version, but the problem still persists.
If there's a way to escalate the problem to the intel HD 3000 drivers team, that'd be awesome.

ps: I made a mistake. It's a 64 bit machine. But yea, we just installed, the latest 64 bit drivers and the problem is still there. I'll try to edit the ticket title.

Hey, chetan.
I've been giving your issue a go on my system with the same graphics and driver, but I got stuck at getting the "reflection" style. The free trial doesn't cover the particular style. Are there any other styles that are free that could also demonstrate the problem?

Hello Zack,
Thank you for your reply. My apologies, but I didn't realize Reflections was no longer a default style. You can download the stylepack here:

I have sent you a private message with the product key included.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Do take care.

Hi Chetan
Our debug team has replicated the issue in our labs and is currently working to root cause the issue. I will post more information as I get it.

Has there been any resolution to this? We are seeing issues with glReadPixels reading from the stencil buffer on other Intel chipsets (sch as Intel(R) HD Graphics Family).

Hello,
is there anything new regarding this issue ? I've got several users of my game complaining because of this. The stencil buffer doesn't work at all with the HD 3000.
The users claim to have the latest drivers installed.
Thanks,
Patrice.
