N Scott Pearson has a history of my problems with the Intel HDMI audio dropping out. He advised me to download and install 15.33.50.5129. Which I did:

The Intel Installation Tool indicated it had  deleted several drivers and installed 6.16.0.3154 and 15.33.50.5129. I restarted my computer. Device Manager shows Intel Display Audio HDMI 3/18/2019 10.0.1832.1, Intel HD Graphics 1/21/2020, 10.18.10.5129, Intel Display Audio 9/9/20, 146.16.0.3154.

Device Manager shows no indication it's was installed.

What would be my next step?

Stan

I hate to say it, but you are now on the latest available drivers for this hardware. There's no remedy if this version doesn't fix the issue. Your processor is discontinued and thus there is no longer any maintenance of the drivers going on.

@SMcIn5 If your machine is a desktop, you might want to look at gettin a compatible nvidia card, like a gtx 760 or gtx 1060.
