I've been attempting to play Skyrim after installing 8.1, but it constantly flickers while playing. I tried downloading all of my driver updates, but it seems like nothing's working. It works when I play it windowed, and all other games I've tried work fullscreen.
Any ideas?

I am sorry to hear that have had issues with the Intel® Graphics Controller on your computer.
I would need more information in regards to your system configuration:
Is your operating system 32 bit or 64 bit?
Also, the exact processor model on your system:
Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer .
Select Properties .
Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note the processor model.
Does this problem occur with drivers provided by the board or computer manufacturer?

It's 64 bit.
Processor model is Intel Core i5-3210M CP @ 2.50 GHZ.
I've tried to look for drivers on HP's site, but I don't see any that need updating. I've gone through Intel's drivers, and it says I'm all good.

I've already tried refreshing my computer, and it didn't help anything. At this point, my computer's so messed up that I need to do a fresh reinstall to get all of the drivers and applications that my computer came with. Should I do that now, or wait until you find a solution that I know will work once I reinstall it?

You can try re installing your computer, download latest video drivers off the Intel site at:

It's telling me that this driver is older than my current driver. Should I still overwrite it? If so, should I uninstall the other drivers first, and what would be the safest way to do that?

Yes, you can try uninstalling the current driver then install the driver you downloaded off the Intel web:

I uninstalled my Intel driver (and for good measure my AMD driver as well) and then reinstalled both.
I still get the flickering.

I may have discovered a solution.
For some reason, my computer has both AMD and Intel drivers, despite me only having an Intel card. Upon disabling the AMD driver, Skyrim works fine. When I try to uninstall the driver, though, it constantly shows back up.
So what should I do now?

The fact that your game and screen are working under Intel graphics, it may indicate you have a problem with AMD drivers or hardware.
The game has been tested under Intel graphics and no issues were reported.

Please check with your computer manufacturer for more information about your AMD graphics, drivers or warranty options.
