Hi Ostdoc,

Greetings from Intel Customer Support!

Thank you for posting and for the detailed description of what you are experiencing. I am happy to help you work through this.

So based on what you have shared, when your system reboots, the display connected via HDMI shows a snowy or distorted image, a clicking noise comes through the speakers, and the system becomes completely unresponsive until you manually reboot again, with the screen returning to normal around the fourth attempt. Your Windows Event Monitor is also pointing to a graphics software issue, which is actually a helpful clue and gives us a good starting point.

Before I can give you more targeted advice, it would help to know a few things about your setup:

What graphics driver version do you currently have installed for the Arc A380? You can find this in Device Manager under Display Adapters, right-clicking the Intel Arc A380, selecting Properties, then the Driver tab. What version of Windows are you running, including the build number? What is your monitor model, and what HDMI cable version are you using such as HDMI 1.4, 2.0, or 2.1? What is your motherboard model? Is Resizable BAR currently enabled in your BIOS? Did this issue start after a specific driver update or Windows update? Could you also share a screenshot of the Event Viewer entries related to the graphics issue you mentioned?

Please run the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) and attach the report for system diagnostics: Download link: Intel SSU Tool After downloading, open the tool, run a scan (leave default options), click Next, then save the results as a .txt file, and attach it in your reply. Please note: While generating the SSU report, kindly uncheck the “Networking” option.

I will follow-up with you on August 11 via call, if there is no response by then, I will proceed to close this case. If you are open to discuss the issue via call for a quicker exchange of information and possibly do a remote assistance session to gather the requested information and troubleshoot the issue quicker, please let me know as well.

Once you share the details above, I can follow up with more specific next steps to get this fully resolved for you.

Best regards,

Jennifer B.
