HD 4000 - triple monitors work on linux but not windows?

Hi

I have Dell E5430 with i5-3380 (HD4000), Windows 10 64bit. On Linux Mint i have 2 monitors + builtin display working both with dock station (laptop screen + 2x Display port) and without it (HDMI + D-SUB). On windows 10 i cant get working 3 of them. Ive seen this guide below ...

http://www.dell.com/support/article/pl/pl/pldhs1/sln115952/how-to-configure-three-3-displays-on-a-dell-latitude-notebook-with-intel-hd-4x00-graphics?lang=en How to configure three (3) displays on a Dell Latitude Notebook with Intel HD 4x00 Graphics | Dell Polska

... and i think i meet all requirements ...

1. I have GPU which supports 3 monitors (HD 4000)

2. I have Dell E-Port Plus Advanced Port Replicator with 2 Displayports

3. Both my monitors (Samsung S27D590C and HP E231) have native Displayport connectors (no adapters)

But in the newest Intel drivers i dont see Advanced Tab and in the Intel Panel or from Right Click on Tray Icon i can choose only double monitor configuration.

I tried to update my drivers but two top newest drivers for my card didnt work - installers threw an errors that i dont have supported hardware or something like that

What is also weird, when i choose setup Samsung + HP setup the first one (Samsung ) behaves unreliably - blinks and makes strange noises (similar to those when you move computer power cable in its socket)

Why is this happening? Why i dont have any problems on linux? Why your card does support 3 monitors setups according to your specifications but your drivers does not?? And why this problem still persits in 2018 when as ive seen people complained about it in 2013 (5 years ago!).

And finally, is there any chance to get triple monitors to work (reliably) on windows???

Hello doman18

Thank you for joining the community.

Allowed me to share this following link for assistance about setting three display

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005556/graphics-drivers.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005556/graphics-drivers.html

In there you can find information on how to set independent display, HD graphics that support these fractures, dongles information, and other frequently asked questions about configuration.

Allowed me to share with you that Intel® does not recommend the use of any kind of adapters. This is because we cannot test all of them, so we cannot guarantee that these are going to work. We can recommend you to update your graphics driver that in some cases will fix the problem.

Can you try to set the configuration with straight connections form the PC to the displays?

Regards,

Leonardo C.
