Hello Noah:

Thank you very much for that information.

We are going to replicate the issue, in order for us to try to find out a solution for this problem.

In order for us to do that, we need a report from the Intel® HD Graphics control panel, once you open that, choose "options and support", then choose "information center", and then choose where it says "file" at the bottom, you will get a text file, please attach it to the thread.

Besides that information, please install the SSU tool (System Support Utility):

You will be able to download it on the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Once you do that, the tool will allow you to save the information as a file, so, once you save it, please attach it to this thread.

Hello Noah:

Thank you very much for that information.

There is a new driver that we just released for the Intel® HD Graphics 530, according to the report you are using driver version 20.19.15.4463, please try the following driver, it is version 15.40.26.4474:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26099/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26099/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-

Once you installed the driver, test the game just with one monitor please, the one that has the HDMI port, and let me know the results.

Thanks

Alberto

Okay, I installed the new driver and only had the one monitor connected and it still happens.

Hello Noah:

Thank you very much for that information.

Since the driver did not work, we will try some more tests, as soon as we do that, I will post the results on this thread.

Hello Noah:

In the mean time that we do more testing, you can always try to do a BIOS update to the latest version for the board, which is BIOS version 1803:

Hello Decibull:

I just wanted to let you know that we are still trying to find out the reason for this problem, but we wanted to verify a few details:

Did Halo 2 work fine before?

Did the issue start after updating the driver?

Because if that is the case this might be a regression bug, in order to find that out, try an older driver, just to check if the game works fine that way.

Did you try the graphics drivers provided by ASUS?

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-K/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-K/HelpDesk_Download/

That information will be useful for us to narrow down the problem.

Hi Decibul

I had almost the same specs and issue and fixed it by updating the (EUFI/BIOS) firmware on my Asus Z170-K motherboard.

Spec of my machine: Intel i5 6600 on Asus Z170-K motherboard with dual 24" monitors connected via VGA and DVI. The monitor connected via VGA displayed juddering. The monitor connected via DVI would flash black for ~1 second from one to several times. I thought the problem must be using the old VGA and DVI connectors so upgraded to a single 4K monitor with VGA, DP and HDMI (Philips BDM4350UC). Using VGA this monitor displayed up to 1080P fine but UHD not an option. Using HDMI would see irregular tearing of the screen at lower right. Displayport is not built into this motherboard but tested it from my laptop at a lower resolution and it worked fine.

Changed monitor refresh rate / upgraded / downgraded Intel driver to both production and beta versions and Monitor .inf file but without success. Finally downloaded EUFI ('BIOS') firmware update onto a usb stick, booted to EUFI, upgraded the firmware and booted back into Windows. My new 4K display has been awesome ever since!

Okay, I updated my BIOS with version 1803 and it did not fix the issue.

Halo 2 did not work fine before, it's been happening since I first installed it, which was a couple of days before I posted this thread.

What older driver version would be a good one to try?

Hello Decibull:

You can try any of the drivers on the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/88345/Intel-HD-Graphics-530-for-6th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/88345/Intel-HD-Graphics-530-for-6th-Generation-Intel-Core-Processors

Those are not that old, the older ones are from 2015.

Also you can try any of the VGA drivers from the following link:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-K/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-K/HelpDesk_Download/

You don't need to test all of them, just some of them to check if Halo 2 works fine with one of them.

Any questions, please let me know.
