When I open lightroom I get a pop up message advising me to update to driver version 100.8475 or later. The driver installed is version 20.19.15.5171. When I check on the intel site, it says my graphics driver is up to date, although the instalation date for it is in 2020. Please can someone advise?

Yes, get newer hardware. You are trying to run the latest software on old, discontinued graphics.

You are already running on the last driver release that supported your processor's Intel HD Graphics 4600 engine. If this driver is not sufficient for the software that you need to run, your only recourse is to upgrade to a much newer processor. As Al indicated, the newer driver packages simply do not support these older, discontinued processors.
Sorry, reality bites,
