Alright, this is frustrating me, I'll admit, so lets try to actually address this problem once and for all.
Once upon a time the Intel drivers allowed you to create an arbitrary resolution that was higher than what your monitor can display, which was useful for games. However, for laptops that use Optimus, this function has mysteriously broke in the past 3 months. Now anytime you try to change it, the program complains that the "bandwidth" has exceeded.
Why?

The option to use custom resolutions depends on the resolutions and refresh rate supported by the monitor. I suggest contacting the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm system manufacturer since the implementation of our technologies in their systems may include some limitations.
