Windows 8.1 Pro N with 4790K processor, Asus Gryphon Z97 mobo, 32GB DDR3 and AOC U3477PQU monitor. Tried with latest and one prior to that (15.36.7.64.3960) drivers.
In http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php Gradient (banding) - Lagom LCD test page I see severe banding (like in example reduced color depth later in that page). Also in white saturation test there is white crush, 3 last (252-254) can't be separated. With Microsoft Basic Display Adapter I don't have these problems (gradients are smooth and no white crush).

Hi SaD4E,
Could you please verify the issue with the latest Intel HD Graphics driver version available here:

OK,, I did not see 4080 mentioned specifically, had to be sure it was tried.
On the AOC Display, are you running it at 3440x1440? What connection are you using to the display?
Thanks

Yes, sorry for confusion. Driving at full resolution, 3440x1440 with DisplayPort 1.1.

Any news on this? Really annoying to have to use the MS basic display adapter (no sleep support, screen tearing in videos etc.)

Hi SaD4E,
So far I have not been able to replicate the issue however, I do not have the AOC display you have. On a Samsung 4K display, the images are perfect. I am running the display at 3840x2160 60p/59p. Here is a capture of the image.
Have you tried adjusting the color settings in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel? In particular, the Gamma, Contrast, and Brightness settings may help.
Thanks
Robert

Well, for some reason the issue is gone after installing the latest .4080 drivers for the n:th time.
I don't remember changing anything (except DP 1.1 to DP 1.2 in AOC monitor). Maybe that was the issue.

Good to hear its resolved. DP 1.1 to 1.2 was likely the issue.
Good read on the DP spec from Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort DisplayPort - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
