HEVC decoding on hd 4400

Today i saw that the newer intel hd graphic drivers gives the oppertunity to hardware decode HEVC files ( ). So i just updated my intel hd drivers to latest version to see if my i3-4130 could play a HEVC 4k file (version 15.36.21.64.4222(10.18.10.4222)).

And there was absolutely no difference at all.The video files lags and the HEVC playback is still useless. Is it because almost all HEVC files are in 10 bit? Or did i misunderstand something?

The Intel® HD Graphics 4400 supports HEVC at 8bit but I will need the exact processor model you own.

Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer .

Select Properties .

Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note the processor model.

According to the graphics driver specifications with your processor model and graphics controller only HEVC at 8 bits is supported.

Okay so how can i tell if a video is 8 bit? I haven't had any luck finding any hevc video files that could be decoded by the gpu yet. Does it mean that the most hevc videos today is 10 bit?

It would be nice with a test video file in 8 bit. But u can't find any...

I have been able to play 8 bit videos that I just downloaded here: http://www.cnx-software.com/2010/03/17/where-to-get-video-audio-and-image-samples/ Where to get video, audio and image samples
