Dear Intel,

I am working on setup where I plan to use 3 displays in Combined mode.

OS:  Windows 10 Enterprise
Version 22H2
OS build 19045.3208

My driver revision is:  Intel drivers - 27.20.100.9415

My graphic card is : Vendor 8086 Device ID: 9A49 Silicon rev. 01

My Monitor setup for combined mode is:

2 x Samsung TV connected via HDMI reported in Windows as SAM7129

with following EDID

"EDID"=hex:00,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,00,4c,2d,29,71,00,0e,00,01,01,1f,01,03,80,5f,\

1 x Samsung TV connected via HDMI reported in Windows as SAM71B4

with following EDID

"EDID"=hex:00,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,00,4c,2d,b4,71,00,0e,00,01,01,1f,01,03,80,5f,\

20,20,20,20,01,b9

As you can see the monitor Device ID is slightly different 0x7128 vs 0x71b4 ( also windows reports them differently )

However I am able to enable Combined Display with these 3 displays.

However when I connect another display with  Manufacturer ID 0x2d4c and Device ID : 0x735a ( this is also Samsung ) I cannot enable combined mode with this display.

I have tried also fake_EDID but I guess I cannot change Device ID with this tweak ( only device capability can be changed )

I plan to connect different displays ( same manufacturer, same resolution , different size )

I can see that it is possible to enable combined mode with different Device ID ( example above )  - so this is not hardware limitation.

Please let me know how to force enable combined display with Intel graphic card  ( e.g. some flag/tweak  in registry or special config file )  ?

We are evaluation for our mass product solution few options: Intel is one of them.

Best regards,

Bartek

Hello Bartekf,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I realize how complicated this issue is, and to help you further I would like to gather the following details.

1. What is the exact model of your GPU or integrated graphics? "Vendor 8086 Device ID: 9A49 Silicon rev. 01" does not show anything in our system.

2. You mentioned "I am able to enable Combined Display with these 3 displays.", does this mean that you are able to use the feature "combined mode"?

3. You also mentioned, "when connecting another display with Manufacturer ID 0x2d4c and Device ID: 0x735a cannot enable combined". does this mean that you are able to use the feature "combined mode" as long as all monitors/TV have the same device ID? If so, what is the device that does not have the same device ID? Is it a different one from the ones that you provided?

4. What is the brand and model name of your CPU?

Hello Deivid.

sorry I was busy with other research.

At the beginning I would like to emphasize what I am asking for.

I want to connect 3 different display models -> this means they will have different EDID -> different model ID

and enable combined mode with all 3 displays.

I am able to enable combined mode for 3 displays  in following set-up:

case 1.  3 x Displays from the same manufacturer ( e.g. Samsung ) and exactly the same device ID  0x7128

case 2.  Display 1 device ID  0x7128 , Display 2 device id  0x7128,  Display 3 device ID  0x71b4

I am unable to enable combined mode for 3 displays in following set-up

case 3.  Display 1 device ID  0x7128 , Display 2 device id  0x7128,  Display 3 device ID  0x735a

The request is to be able to enable combined mode for set-up like in case 3 ( and similar where Device ID doesn't match )

ad3

As you can see on the answer 2 and also in Intel's guideline - Combined mode can be enabled for device from the same manufacturer and the same model = case 1

It looks like I am able to enable combined mode when Device ID is little bit different ( only 2LSB are different ) = case 2

I want to enable combined mode when device ID is completely different ( I will use same resolution on all 3 displays ) =case 3

Below configuration - combined mode works for all 3 displays

case 1: 3 x Displays identical model from the same manufacturer ( Device ID  0x7128 )

case 2:  Display 1 device ID 0x7128 , Display 2 device ID 0x7128 , Display 3 device ID 0x71b4

Below configuration - combined mode cannot be enabled for display 3

Hello Bartekf,

Thanks for the information provided. In order to investigate this issue, I would like to gather the following:

1. Try clean installation of the latest Intel graphics drivers 31.0.101.4644:

2. What is the band and model name of the monitor ID 0x735a? This is to check compatibility.

3. Provide the Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers using the "case 3" setup:

4. Provide the complete report from the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
